Dr. Hercules Simos

Hercules Simos received the B.S. degree in informatics and the M.Sc. in telecommunications engineering from the University of Athens, Greece, in 1998 and 2000 respectively. In 2007, he received from the same institute the Ph.D. degree on all-optical wavelength conversion and regeneration subsystems for WDM telecommunication networks.

Since 1999 he is with the Optical Communications Laboratory of the University of Athens, as a research associate in national and European projects in the field of optical communications. He has experience in the modeling of semiconductor lasers and optical amplifiers for use in signal processing subsystems.

His research areas of interest include semiconductor laser dynamics and photonic devices for all-optical processing and sensing.
